How does the identity verification actually work?

Hi there,

My request just got accepted (so happy!!) but now they're asking me to verify my identity. What exactly is that? What do I need to send? And above all, is it secure? I'm a bit scared of putting my ID online...

Thanks to anyone who's already been through this!

For me it took less than 12 hours. And as for security, the site is HTTPS, and they state in their policy that the documents are deleted after verification. That was enough for me.

Don't worry! You go to your beneficiary area, there's a "Identity verification" section. You take a photo of your ID card or passport and send it. They usually verify within 24 hours. It's standard.

I used my passport, validated in a few hours. Honestly it's quick and there's nothing complicated.

I did the verification 2 months ago, no problems since. Your documents really are deleted afterward. Go ahead, no worries.
